The cloud security firm Zscaler has now stated that Google recently deleted over 50 applications from the Play Store because they were infested with malware.


 Similar incidents have previously occurred. According to the research, Zscaler's ThreatLabz team discovered three separate malware families—Joker, Facestealer, and Coper—infecting Google Play apps.


According to the analysis, the majority of these apps were compromised by Joker malware, which is unquestionably one of the most well-known malware families that targets Android smartphones.

The virus known as "Joker" "keeps finding its way into Google's official app store by periodically changing the malware's trail signatures, including revisions to the code, execution methods, and payload-retrieving tactics," according to the research. 


This virus is intended to enrol the user up for premium wireless application protocol (WAP) services as well as to gather SMS messages, contact lists, and device information, according to the study.


These applications were promptly reported to Google, who then quickly removed them. Due to the fact that many Android users had already downloaded all of these apps, this didn't, however, fix the issue.
