Now on Whats App, you may conceal your online status

2022 How to Hide WhatsApp Online Status While Chatting:



 One of the major updates to WhatsApp is that you will soon be able to hide your online status, as per the recent upgrade.



For some time now, WhatsApp has enabled users to hide their profile image, status, and last seen, but it has never provided a way to hide their online status.



 This was one of the features that the Signal app gave users, and many appreciated having it as an optional privacy tool, so it looks like WhatsApp might finally do it.



Android Whatsapp online status hiding:



The new functionality was discovered by WaBetaInfo in WhatsApp's Android beta version 2.22.16.12, and the site also posted a screenshot of it. This will be available in the Settings menu under Account > Privacy.



 "Last seen and online" option can be found here at the top of the screen. To use the function, you just need to touch on it.


In the Last Sen area, there are four options that are self-explanatory. It's nobody, my contacts, my contacts, everyone else, and my contacts.

 The "Online Status" section has two choices: Everyone and Last Seen. So, if you want your online status to be visible to everyone, you should select "Nobody" in the Last Seen section and "Same as last seen" in the Online Status section.


If you had the option to hide your online status on WhatsApp, no one would be able to tell whether you have opened the app or not.


So, if you choose to hide your online status and last seen information, the sender will never learn whether you have received messages or are trying to ignore a specific contact.



 Keep in mind that the functionality is currently being worked on and should be available soon.
