Soon after the conflict between Russia and Ukraine erupted, Natalia Klitschko appeared alongside her husband Vitali on a number of German television shows. They appeared as a pair at all times. They have currently filed for divorce.

While Vitali Klitschko protected Kyiv from Russian aggression in his capacity as mayor, his wife Natalia Klitschko rallied the people of Germany. She performed for charity, talked on discussion programmes about the difficulties affecting Ukrainians, and brought attention to the extreme suffering. 

The two never appeared to part ways despite their separation. Now, shockingly, the Klitschkos filed for divorce after 26 years together.

We respect one other and get along well, but we've been living apart in different places for a while," Vitali Klitschko said to the "Bild" magazine "-Newspaper. At a fashion event, the former boxer and former model crossed paths. Their son Yegor-Daniel was born in 2000, followed by Elizabeth-Victoria and Max, who was named after the legendary German boxer Max Schmeling.

Natalia Klitschko has a long history as a singer, despite having previously made her living as a model. Recently, she raised her voice in support of her native nation. 

The Hamburg-based musician has made it her mission to support and care for Ukrainian refugees living in Germany while her soon-to-be ex-husband advocates for Kiev there. The 48-year-old revealed on "Markus Lanz" in March that she narrowly avoided losing her own mother.

She intervened just in time to save her mother.

"For the first week, she spent all of her time in the bunker. Like everyone in Ukraine, she was initially very optimistic and thought they were just trying to scare her "Klitschko said. Her mother came to the conclusion that "this is no longer a game, this is war" on the fourth day.

Natalia begged her mother to save her life over the phone, while it was still possible. Her mother initially desired to remain in the nation. 

She allegedly told her that because it was her native country, she would die there. It was the worst week of Natalia Klitschko's life. 

When she emphasised that she would always remember the start of the war at Lanz, the singer had to fight back tears.
